Tips For Christian Online Dating

Author: Breana Marcline

The internet has become an incredible tool for the dating world. However, because it has become so big some there are a lot of dating services that cater to specific people or groups of people. One of the largest groups out there is the christian online dating scene, but even though you are on a Christian site does not mean you don't need to take some precautions.

1. Approach each correspondences with caution. Dating online offers easy ways for people to lie and be deceitful and christian sites are just like any other site out there. The biggest caution you can take is to keep personal information to yourself. Do not give out your address or phone number to someone through an email.

2. Your first meeting should be public and stay public. So meet at a restaurant, go miniature golfing, ice skating or anything else that there will be a lot of people. Then the most important thing is to stay there. Do not take them up on an offer to go back to their place for coffee, or even go to another location in the same vehicle. You do not know this person yet so be careful. These precautions are usually only necessary for the first 2 or 3 dates and then after that you can enjoy doing things a little more privately. If you are exceptionally worried then you may also consider telling a friend or family member where and when you are going and make plans to check in with them at a certain time.

3. If you feel someone is pushing you too hard or asking questions they shouldn't then do not feel bad to tell them, sometimes they may not realize it and stop. Otherwise they may get offended or make you feel guilty and push harder, if this is the case then do NOT feel bad to stop contact with them. Your participating in christian online dating to have fun and meet people you will enjoy, not to be badgered and feel guilty for being safe.

4. When you choose a photo for christian online dating you want to choose one that shows who you are. You do not need one that is sexy and provocative, it may end up sending the wrong impression and you will probably receive emails from guys that you wouldn't want to date.

5.
If you want to take an extra step then I would get a separate email account for all your christian online dating. This way if you get someone harassing you then you can block them or even just stop using the email account. This will also keep dating emails separate from personal or work emails.

6. Be honest. Just like you are hoping that they are being honest with you, you should be honest with them. Plus if you lied about something but end up liking the guy and things start getting serious, you will eventually have to reveal the lie and you just might ruin what you could of had.
